EVP Target Sales Strategy & Solutions
Doug has more than 25 years’ industry experience. In 2016, he founded Stuke Retail & Consumer Advisors LLC after spending 11 years with Target. During his tenure at Target, Doug consistently delivered sales and margin rate growth by improving business fundamentals, engaging vendors to deliver differentiated products and services, challenging the status quo, and being willing to explore novel solutions to real problems.
As Vice President Merchandise Manager, Healthcare, Doug was responsible for Pharmacy, OTC, and Optical and was instrumental in the transition of Target pharmacies to CVS Health as a “store within a store” concept. Prior positions included Divisional Merchandise Manager of Healthcare, Director of Healthcare Business Development, and a number of positions as senior buyer.
Doug earned both a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and worked for 8 years as a Product Development & Design Engineer for Ford Motor Company. He left Ford to pursue an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and upon graduation went to work as a consultant for McKinsey & Company focused on the retail and consumer goods sectors. He spent 5 years there before joining Target.
As head of the Target Team, Doug leverages his experience and keen insights of both Target and the consumer and competitive landscapes to help MPG clients develop winning strategies to drive competitive differentiation and profitable growth within this key retailer.
